Remember those thrilling days of yesteryear, when D&D came in a single box?
Those days have returned! One canimagine dangerous dungeons, Wiley Non-Player Characters, and monsters that might just be able to kill your character regardless of your level! Save or Die podcast intends to cover them all, from the first box set of 1974 to the last of the 1990s box sets. If its Dungeons & Dragons and came in a box, they will chat about it!

I only ask because just the one day I showed up and played with Tim Kask was a pretty enlightening experience for me. Playing under someone with that old style is so different than I am used too.
Was just hoping you guys would go into some details of your experiences and hear about the games you played in and how they went.
Enjoyed the show, glad to hear Chrispy again. Gratz to Michael on taking over host seat!
I thought we talked about it. I mean it's a local con, so not everyone cares as if it was Origins, Paizocon or gencon.

You've been considered a regular host.

Maybe as a matter of size or age NTRPG can't compare with those other cons, but it has always come across to me as a first class OSR convention and that is a big deal to many of us.

Lol...my apologies Chrispy...you are more than a guest host in my book. Perhaps a better term would be in order: Part-time regular host? Semi-attending host? Host with the most...of the time?

I do really enjoy what you and the rest of the hosts bring to the podcast...lots of varied perspectives.

And some of the people that were there are hugely influential folks. Like Frank Mentzer, Tim Kask, Jeff Dee, Erol Otus and Zeb Cook to name a few.
You might be surprised how someone would enjoy listening to a player talk about their experiences playing a game under one of these legends. Or just meeting them. Lotta folks could not make it and I am sure they would enjoy hearing what went on.
I had a great time and next year I think I am going to just get a room for the duration and stay. I have only been to a few cons in my life (3?) but I think this one has hooked me. Helps that it is just down the street from where I live as well

Well, I've never been to GenCon (since 2000 haven't really wanted to) but I've been to Origins and while in size NTXRPGCon isn't in the same league I had (and continue to have) more fun at NTX. Like someone on DF said, its big enough to get in as much gaming as you want yet small enough that you can see regular friendly faces. Not to mention speak to some of the gaming luminaries without having to pay cash and stand in line with a number.

About the only other gaming cons I have any interest in attending other than NTX stuff is GaryCon and perhaps Coast Con...though the last is pure nostalgia on my part.

To make up for it Celestian, ep 53 we'll skip emails that show and do a NTXRPG review up right.

Yes, I've already expressed my sadness of less Vince, but I'm glad we'll hear more Mike, Liz, Glen & Chrispy.
