Warlord of Mars using B/X

Postby Ravenspoe » Fri Mar 09, 2012 12:01 am

With the movie coming out (or out already), I was thinking it might be fun to hack B/X to run a Mars one shot. I own the beautiful books done by Adamant Entertainment that is the JCWoM setting with all the serial number filed off, but I think D&D could do it better than Savage Worlds.

Anyone try this?

I haven't, but it ought to be a total piece of cake.

I'm only partway though A Princess of Mars (been meaning to read it for years now) and I bought A Guide to Barsoom in expectation of reading the series at a local secondhand bookshop.

Now, I'm still not terribly familiar with the Barsoom setting but this book looks like an excellent campaign sourcebook, just fill in the stats.

Jason Vey had put this up on the web a few years ago. It should work well with B/X, Swords and Wizardry, as well as OD&D. http://www.grey-elf.com/barsoom.pdf

No, I have not... I was never a particular fan of A Princess of Mars anyways.
